The best way to show your support is this Saturday’s Susan G Komen Race for the Cure walk for Breast Cancer. You can sign up for the walk online or just show up and register tomorrow morning 10/06/12. The Race for the Cure walk is a huge event in Houston and is the perfect way to get your friends and family together while supporting the search for a cure. If you are unable to make the walk you can show your support for many Houston participants at The Tasting Room in Uptown Park for their “Cheers for a Cure” event starting at 10:00 am, after the race. Join the party and support the cause with breakfast tacos and frozen mimosas.
Cafe Express is featuring Susan G Komen (SGK) cookies this month in honor of NBCAM. These chocolate cookies with pink M&M’s are not only delicious, but each cookie purchased ($0.99) donates $1 to the Susan G. Komen foundation. Order one with your meal or pick up a few dozen for friends and family; you’ll get to enjoy a sweet treat and help fund a cure!
Crave Cupcakes also has sweet treats that honor those fighting and surviving the battle against breast cancer. Pick from “Crave for the Cure” and pink ribbon toppers, or use both, to make sure that even your sweet treats help supportive of the fight against breast cancer. You don’t need a party or benefit to buy cupcakes and cookies grab a couple of each and sit down with friends, family, coworkers, loved ones, or whomever you’d like and listen to how breast cancer has effected their lives. The best way to show support and educate yourself from their stories!
