Q: You have great one-of-a-kind items in your store. If you had to choose just one piece, what would be your favorite one-of-a-kind item?
A: Many of the items that we carry are one-of-a-kind. We shop globally to bring Houston pieces that are as unique and individual as the person buying them. My favorite one-of-a-kind pieces that we carry are the Depetra bracelets, some of which can be worn as necklaces as well. Each bracelet has its own individual hand-cut stone. The bracelets come in a cuff-style and in a wrap-style. The wrap-style can also be worn as a choker necklace, which gives you flexibility in the way the jewelry is worn. The price range for these bracelets is $280 to $350.
Q: What are some summer trends that you love this year? And how can we recreate those trends?
A: The summer trends that we love here at BB1 are:
1. The Sunlight zip-up vest, priced at $229. This is one of our best sellers and can be worn in so many different ways. The reason we love this look is because you can layer the zip-up best over a dress, you can pair it with leggings or you can even wear it as a dress. The look is endless and a great investment if you want a staple piece that can be styled in many ways.
2. Hand-painted, Jane Wang dresses originally created on canvas and now printed on a bright colored, 100% silk knit fabric are perfect for summer. These dresses are priced at $298. If you are into wearable art, we also carry gorgeous hand-painted dresses by Emma Savahl – priced at $950 to over $1,000.
3. Nautical attire is also very in for summer. We love the nautical look because it’s classic and will never go out of style. We carry cardigans and sweaters that you can pull over your shoulders, tie it around your waist, etc. The looks are endless. We also carry great sailor pants with a high waist, which gives the illusion of a slim waist line and elongates the leg.
Q: What if someone is traveling to Europe this summer, what outfit do you suggest that they bring with them?
A: I would recommend the Luisa Cerano line. This line is great for travel because all of her individual items work together. For example, you can buy 2 jackets in case it’s cool in the morning or at night in different green tones. The jackets have convertible sleeves that roll-up, when it gets warm during the day. You can pair one of the jackets with a convertible pant that again, you can roll-up depending on weather. Under the jacket, you can go with a solid colored tank or a patterned tank. If you are going to a nice dinner, wear a solid tank under a tunic with white solid white jeans and sandals – this look is flawless. All you have to do the next night is switch out the tunic. Q: Are there “must have” accessories that our Facebook readers have to have this summer while shopping outside or lying by the pool or playing at the beach?
A: Yes, of course! I would say the “must haves” this summer are:
1. Nickel “liquid silver” bracelets. These look and feel great on the beach or at the pool. They are still casual, but will dress up any look. You also won’t even know your wearing a bracelet – they literally feel like a second skin. These range n price from $109 to $198.
2. Topsies are a modern take on the flip flop. These create a fresh, new look this summer. We have all types of designs, depending on your mood. These start at $79.
Q: What are some items y’all have in store that take a woman from professional work attire into a girl’s night out outfit?
A: Two things that will take a woman from the office to the night club are:
1. The Pant Legging – these leggings can we worn under dresses, skirts or with a blazer during the day. At night, you can transform this look by pairing them with great wedges or knee-high boots for a more “girl’s night out” look.
2. The boyfriend jacket – this can be paired with a button down and buttoned during the day, but at night – replace the button down with a little tank, unbutton the jacket and roll up the sleeves and you have a totally different “night-time” look.
Q: We hear that you all carry the magical dress that can be styled in an endless number of ways. Do you still have those in stock? Exactly how many ways do you think this dress can be styled?
A: The magical dress has now evolved into many more different styles. First and foremost, we carry the signature wrap in knit jersey and a T-length and a ball gown length that come in a variety of gem tones and is made of a stretchy satin fabric. We also have the Miss Jezebel, which fits any body type and has ruching up the sides. The third style we carry is the Miss Pizzaz which has ruffles and is very romantic. So – whatever your style… there is an option for you. These dresses range in price from $279.
